To finish last week and start this week in interior design we learned about how to create a mood board. This is a tool that interior designers use to show their their vision for a certain space. In this case however it was used to describe us and our style with the things we like. My particular board shows that I am a very eclectic. I have a few vintage items that I really enjoy but then again I also have a lot wood that is more on the rustic side of the spectrum. The rustic feel of the bookcase is wonderful but I mostly put it in because it can hold books and I love to read. Speaking of rustic, I added the portrait of the girl on wood. This was to show that I love original art even if I can not create it myself. When it comes to color I don’t venture all that much. It stays with the earthy tones, blacks, whites and maybe a pop of red here and there. I have a lot of photographs on my board because that is my passion and what I hope to pursue as a career. The photographs that I have chosen even say something about me and my style. I love black and white because it feels raw and there is no real distraction from the main focus or subject in a photograph. I feel like that can also be true in any form of art, even interior design. On my olioboard I also seem to have focused on having comfortable furniture. Though I do like things to look nice I don’t feel like if it’s a good looking piece of furniture it has to loose anything when it comes to comfort. I also put in a few light fixtures because I do like having a lot of light. I added little touches like the candle and the plant as a way of showing that I have many and love the environment that they help create when it comes to a space. When it comes to what the whole room would cost it is obviously very expensive. The total cost was $10,213. For the first time using Olioboard I think it went well and represents me in a good way but I will need to work on making sure to pick things that fit a budget.
